Monstermash Gaming: How To Play

Monstermash is a two-player game where each player takes on the role of a giant monster, destroying everything in their path. The objective of the game is to be the last giant monster standing, and to do so you will need to use your wits and your brute force!

The Components

Each player will need:

• A ten-sided die
• Sixteen food tokens
• One health token
• One rampage token

The game board is a square divided into four equal sections. Each section has a different terrain: Forest, Desert, Mountain, and Jungle. There are also five buildings in the game board: two houses, one store, one bank, and one hospital. These buildings are all equally spaced in the four sections of the game board.

At the beginning of the game, each player will place their health token on the first space of the health track on their player board. They will then place their rampage token on the first space of the rampage track on their player board. The players will then place all sixteen of their food tokens into one bag or container. The youngest player goes first.

## Playing The Game

Round 1: The players will each roll the die. The player withthe highest number starts first and play passes clockwise thereafter. Play passes tothe next player if both players roll the same number. If one player has more thanone "6" they can re-roll until they get a different number. The first player thentaps any space on the game board with their Monster pawn and does one of threeactions: Attack, Move, or Pick Up Food.

Attack:If the Monster is attacking a building, follow these steps:1) Roll the die and add the number rolled to your Monster's Strength stat. Thisis how much damage your Monster does to the building.2) Remove one randomly chosen food token from that building3) If the building has no food tokens left, it is destroyed and set aside4) If there are still food tokens remaining in the building after being attacked bythe Monster, those tokens are returned to that player's pool5) Place your Monster pawn back onto any space on the game board

Move:If you choose to move your Monster instead of attacking, follow these steps:1) Roll the die and add that number to your Monster's Movement stat2) Move your Monster pawn that many spaces in a straight line either orthogonallyor diagonally3) You cannot move through other Monsters or buildings4) If you move onto a space containing another Monster or building, bothMonsters/buildings take 1 point of damage5) If you end your movement on a space with no more obstacles (houses, store,bank, hospital), take one food token from that space and put it into youropening inventory

Pick Up Food:If you choose this action instead of attacking or moving,follow these steps:1) Roll the die and add that number to your Monster's Strength stat2) Take as many food tokens as indicated by that number from anybuilding on the game board3) If there are still food tokens remaining in that building after beingpicked up by your Monster, return them to that player's pool4) Put all picked up food tokens into your opening inventory
